"Solo el Pueblo Salva al Pueblo" Bandana
Collaborated with NDLON on a bandana with full creative direction following the brief “Solo el Pueblo Salva al Pueblo” “Only the People Save the People”.
I chose to do an homage to the street vendors found all around Los Angeles. In the very center of the bandana is an umbrella in reference to a typical vendor setup, and surrounding the umbrella are flowers and various fruits that can be seen on street corners. A recognizable selection of sandía, naranja, pepino, jícama, mango, and limón. The eyes and hands symbolize the workers and their offerings, with “solo el pueblo salva al pueblo” in handwritten type in reference to their handwritten signs.
NDLON is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that strives to improve the lives of day laborers, migrants and low-wage workers.
